Club History
The idea and spirit of the club begin with 12 charter members. In December 2010, a few people sitting around the Moose Lodge were talking about the fun of old cars and decided to form a non-profit car club. Tony and Ingrid Chamberlain took the lead as president and secretary, with Danny Gulliksen leading the charge to name the club the Highway 30 Cruisers. The first car show was Wings & Wheels at the Scappoose airport. Contributions from the car show and raffles were designated for Columbia County charities and a scholarship fund begun for graduating teens interested in the automotive trades at the area high schools. The club has evolved by working together with the City of St. Helens to host a car show in conjunction with the annual Citizens Day in The Park event, running the weekly St. Helens Friday Night Cruise the Gut events during the summer months, and participating in area lunch cruises, tours and charity events in the community.
